ISO 45001

ISO 45001

This Standard replaced OHSAS ISO 18001 in April 2018 as the occupational health and safety management system (OHSAS) and is designed to help businesses develop health and safety objectives and implement practices. The system provides a structured and methodical approach for identifying risks and then eliminating them.

The problems of occupational injuries and diseases is significant for  employers and can result in losses from employee absence, early retirements, claims against the business and rising insurance premiums.  The ISO 45001 Standard will help your business minimise these problems through a framework to reduce workplace risks, improve employee safety, and create better and safer working conditions thereby helping protect your business.

Key Elements

  • Ensuring an appropriate occupational health and safety policy suitable for the business is in place

  • Identifying safety risks and determining legal requirements which the business must comply with

  • Setting up objectives and goals that are aimed at continual improvement

  • Implementing and managing practices that control and minimise the risks

  • Monitoring the system and taking corrective actions

  • Reviewing the system, evaluating its performance and improving it if necessary

Benefits of ISO 45001 Certification

With the ISO 9001 standard you can:

Meet the demands of your customers:

Customer satisfaction is ISO 9001’s primary purpose. The processes are developed to help you maintain or exceed customer satisfaction.

Retain customers:

Customers are retained as they are satisfied with your products and how they are delivered.

Increase revenues: Compared to companies which are not certified, an ISO 9001 certified company should earn greater revenues due to an increase in both production and efficiency. Customers are retained which in turn brings more business from them and they are more likely to recommend you to associates.

Avoid Internal Discrepancies:

The Quality Management System strives to implement the best industrial practices that ensure significant growth and high-quality products. It does not only help you achieve greater efficiency by minimizing unnecessary stages in the production process but also helps you standardize the operations as per industrial benchmarks.  There are therefore fewer internal discrepancies and this translates into greater reliability and durability.

Gain international recognition:

ISO 9001 is recognised as the global quality management standard and is an excellent marketing tool to show potential customers you are a leader in your field.

Decrease issues related to product performance:

Since ISO improves overall quality there are fewer damaged and non-functional products thereby saving time and costs.
